Exploring Chastity Cages: A Guide to Proper Measurement and Selection
What is a chastity cage?
Oh boy, do I have a topic for you! Let's talk about chastity cages - those mysterious little devices that have become quite popular in certain circles. Now, if you're not familiar with them, a chastity cage is essentially a device that's worn over the genitals to prevent sexual activity. Think of it as a little prison for your privates!
So why would someone want to wear one of these things? Well, for starters, some folks find it to be a fun and exciting way to explore their kinks and fetishes. It can be a way to relinquish control to a partner and experience heightened feelings of submission. Plus, there's a certain thrill that comes from being denied sexual gratification - it can make the eventual release more intense
Best way to test if a cage is right for me?
Proper measurement is vital for wearing a chastity cage that fits well, whether you are new to chastity play or are a full-time wearer. Wearing an ill-fitting cage can lead to discomfort and health problems, so getting it right from the start is essential. At MyLuxuryToys, we offer off-the-shelf devices in different sizes and designs, though custom cages are also available from other sellers. Choosing the correct size is important, and beginners are advised to opt for an off-the-shelf device to test their preferences before investing in a custom cage.
There are various designs, materials, and sizes of cock cages available, and some come with multiple back ring sizes to help you find the perfect fit. Plastic cages are generally lighter than metal cages, but they may not be as durable. To ensure you can wear your chastity cage comfortably for as long as you or your keyholder desires, follow the measurement guide.
Before measuring, it is essential to know what makes up a ball trap cage, which holds the testicles between the back ring and cage to keep it in place. The four most important measurements to take are the internal diameter of the back ring, the length of the flaccid penis, the internal diameter of the cage, and the gap between the cage and back ring.
To measure the back ring, you need a thick string or cotton piping cord, a fine-tip marker pen, and a flat ruler. Place the string or cord on the top of the penis, wrap it around and under the testicles, and make a loose knot where the material meets. Ensure the knot is not too tight or loose, and test it for five minutes. If you see any discolouration or urination problems, adjust the knot accordingly.
When you are flaccid, tighten the knot and forget about it. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and make sure it feels comfortable before marking the material with a pen. Once marked, remove by untying, or cutting (very carefully, we recommend safety scissors if you have some).
How to measure for a chastity cage:
Back Ring size:
Now that you have determined your most comfortable size, take the length of the string and line it along the flat ruler to get the entire length. Then we need to do some math by taking the length of that string and dividing it by 3.14 to come to the diameter. This diameter is what you will look for in the ring size (or closest one).
For example,. If you measure the length of the string from the end to the line you marked as 150mm, then the diameter of the ring you would look for would be:
150mm / 3.14 = 47.8mm, or anywhere between 47mm and 50mm.
The great thing about most of our products is that many of them come with more than 1 back ring, allowing you to really try out slightly different sizes. Since your comfort (and pleasure, or lack there of) is our number one priority.
Chastity Cage Tube size:
Before measuring your penis to fit into a chastity cage, it's important to avoid leaving a gap between the tip of your penis and the end of the cage. This defeats the purpose of being locked in chastity.
To accurately measure your penis length, you should be completely flaccid and avoid any plumping, stretching, or stimulated swelling. Avoid taking a warm or ice cold shower before measuring yourself, as this can change your penis size.
Stand upright and place a flat ruler against your pubic bone, lying it flat on top of your penis. Measure from the base to the tip of your penis and write down that measurement. To ensure a proper fit for the cage, it's recommended to subtract ¼ to ½ of an inch from that measurement. Keep in mind to remain focused on the task at hand and only measure yourself when you are completely flaccid.
Chastity Cage Diameter:
Similar to measuring the back ring size, we would use a string to tie around your flaccid (very important) penis.
Ensure you are tying it around your penis at its thickest point. Once you have done that, take the string off and measure the total length of it using the ruler and dividing the total by 3.14, to arrive at the diameter.
Now what?
From here you should have the perfect sizes for your chastity cage with the back ring, length and tube diameter. The next selection is the type of material and color.
At MyLuxuryToys we offer a wide selection of chastity devices in different colours. Clear, black and pink cages are very popular in our plastic and silicone devices, while shiny stainless steel is only available in our metal cage collection.

How to put one on:
Okay, so you browsed our selection, and bit the bullet and have one of our high quality chastity cages sitting on you desk. It might seem daunting at first but trust us, if you followed our instructions above, the hardest part is over.
Most importantly, before putting any cage on, ensure the area is clean to prevent any infection or discomfort. Personally, I do enjoy to have my area shaven before hand so that the cage will not catch any any straggler hairs, but that is completely optional.
The next step is to unpack the chastity cage and ensure all the pieces are there. Select the correct back plate sizing and begin to slide it around your cock and right back to the pelvic bone. Once there, begin to gently pull your balls through the plate.
The next step is to then begin to seat the actual cage. There are a couple methods to do this, however both will require you to lube up your cock before hand. Without lube the skin of your cock sometimes gets stuck and the pain and discomfort will more than ruin the headspace you are trying to get into.
After its nicely lubed, there are a couple options to slide on the cage:
1) Get a very thin piece of fabric and wrap your cock over it, then slide the cage over the fabric. Once the cage is close to the latch, pull the tip of the fabric through the top opening of the cage. Continue to pull until all the fabric is through the tip and you are just left with your dick in the cage. What you will notice is as your pulling the fabric, its also pulling your cock down into the cage to seat it properly.
2) Lube it up and patiently put the cage on. Sometimes your cock will sit oddly, ensure that you do not power through this. Instead, stop and reposition.
Once the cage is on, its time to lock it up.
Tips & Tricks:
- If you become erect, do not force the cage, wait until you are flaccid and try again.
- If there is any pinching, or skin pulling, take it off and try another size
- For your first time, ensure you closely monitor your testicles to see if any circulation is being cut off
- Don't go from 0 to 100 right away. You hear about all these people keeping them on over night or for days. If this is your first time, ease into it. Start with 10 minutes, then 20 and so on.
- Enjoy your new headspace :)
